For Counsel, Inc. is located in the great Pacific Northwest in a suburb of Portland, Oregon. We are an hour away from the Ocean and just over that from some great mountain skiing. When it is not raining, we have great views of Mt. Hood and Mt. St. Helens.

For Counsel was started in 1985 by Art Kroos, then an international lawyer for a Fortune 100 company. During his travels Mr. Kroos found law related items he felt would be of interest to colleagues. They were and he quickly saw the need for a mail order catalog that catered to lawyers. So began the formation of our catalog-aptly named "For Counsel".

Since 1985, the business has grown dramatically. More recently, going on the web has brought the For Counsel products to a worldwide network of lawyers.

Because For Counsel is unique, our company has received much media attention. The catalog has been featured on NBC and CNBC Television, New York and other city radio. Written articles have appeared in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, San Francisco Chronicle and other newspapers. Our products frequently appear on the most popular court room TV programs.
